Roger Brignull, O.D.
Dr. Brignull came to Maine in 1973 after graduation from Southern California College of Optometry. Originally from upstate New York, he spent several years practicing in Rumford and Brunswick before coming to Bar Harbor in 1979. He purchased the Bar Harbor practice from John Weast, O.D. and the Ellsworth practice was purchased in 1984 from Gordon Rand, OD and moved from Main Street to High Street. In 2009, the Ellsworth practice moved from High Street to its present home at 82 Water Street. Dr. Brignull provides primary optometric care, with interests in contact lenses, and glaucoma management and treatment.
Dr. Brignull is a member of the Maine Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He participates in the charitable program Vision USA. He resides in Bar Harbor with his wife, Donna. Dr. Brignull's interests include sculpting and hiking. |
Michael Gonyea, O.D.
Dr. Gonyea moved to Maine as a child when his parents relocated to Brewer. He graduated from Brewer High School and from the University of Maine-Orono. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, graduating in 1984.
After serving as an optometrist in the U.S. Navy in Virginia, he joined Eyes in 1988. He provides primary eye care for patients of all ages, with interests in contact lenses and treatment and management of glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.
Dr. Gonyea is a member of the Maine Optometric Associaton and the American Optometric Associations and has served on the Board of Directors of the Maine Optometric Association. He participates in the Vision USA and InfantSee charitable optometric service programs. Dr. Gonyea resides in Ellsworth with his wife, Laurie, where he enjoys photography and music. |

Kenneth Wich, O.D.
Dr. Wich graduated in 1992 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. He relocated from upstate New York to Maine in 1995 after serving as an Army optometrist in Fort Balvoir, Virginia. Dr. Wich joined Eyes in 2001 to provide full-scope primary eye care to patients of all ages. He is a member of the Maine and American Optometric Associations Dr. Wich resides in Belfast with his wife, Amy, and 3 children. He is an avid cyclist and enjoys long distance rides and bicycle touring.
